The UNSPSC classification every Commonwealth notice is published against, from segment to commodity.

Every AusTender notice carries a UNSPSC code. That single fact is what turns "how big is this market" from an opinion into a query. Today the Categories page lists the top-level UNSPSC segments, with the contracts published against each and the value contracted. Walking down through family and class to commodity is done in the Reports category filter for now; on this page it is still to come, along with the buyers and suppliers under each category.
It is also the most practical way to set up alerts. Rather than guessing keywords, you pick the codes that describe what you sell and put them on a saved search — which then matches notices whose titles use words you would never have chosen. Category data is enriched from the AusTender OCDS feed, which fills in codes missing from the notice itself.
What you will be able to do
- Browse the UNSPSC tree with contract counts and values at each level.
- See the top buyers and incumbent suppliers for a category.
- Use codes as filters on search, reports and saved searches.
- Follow a category so it appears in your Explore recommendations.
